OK if you’re still not sure whether or not Drive is the kind of film you want to see then maybe you should pop along to the FaceBook page of F.T.R.C (From The Red Carpet) UK Cinemagoers will recognise them as the people who show movie clips and bits of interviews  between Skits from the Red & Yellow M&Ms.

See here...

I’m fortunate enough to be one of the lucky people who got to see the film for free the other day so we can let FTRC know what we thought of the film, and of course the rest of the internet too. If you’ve seen the film or want to know what your ‘average’ film watcher thought of it join in at 18:30 GMT (about 1 hour from when this was posted, it’s 17:30ish now)

Here’s a brief description of what their Film Club idea is all about...

“But just what is this Film Club malarkey all about? It’s simples, really. Each week we send a pair of cinema tix (ODEON or Cineworld, whichever is best) to 10 of our most active Facebook/Twitter followers. We put the film we’re going to see to the vote, and the winning film is the one we all go to see. Then we all sit around on Facebook on the Sunday night (6.30) and chat about it...”

So if you want to see if a bunch of ‘ordinary folk’ can explain how a film that has 92% (8.2 score) on Rotten Tomatoes AND a 79 Metacritic score AND won tee best director award at Cannes could get a ‘C’ Cinemascore when it opened in North America last weekend. More importantly, is it worth going to see for yourself?
“Ryan Gosling stars as a Los Angeles wheelman for hire, stunt driving for movie productions by day and steering getaway vehicles for armed heists by night. Though a loner by nature, Driver can't help falling in love with his beautiful neighbor Irene (Carey Mulligan), a vulnerable young mother dragged into a dangerous underworld by the return of her ex-convict husband Standard (Oscar Isaac). After a heist intended to pay off Standard's protection money spins unpredictably out of control, Driver finds himself driving defence for the girl he loves, tailgated by a syndicate of deadly serious criminals. But when he realizes that the gangsters are after more than the bag of cash in his trunk-that they're coming straight for Irene and her son-Driver is forced to shift gears and go on offense.”
See you there...
